Round Day Tanks
Our newest development, the round day tank incorporates design features that we have been researching for several years. It is the culmination of years of experience and comprehension in art glass furnace functionality, ergonomics, insulation, atmosphere control and heat reclamation.
The liner of this new furnace is press bonded AZS in the form of a seamless flat-bottom crucible. We have built rectangle tanks from this material since 1999, and found it to hold up very well to thermal shock and corrosion. Our first one is still in operation at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. With the round seamless model, we expect equal or better lifespan and 39% reduction in heat loss. Clients are reporting higher glass quality as well, which can be attributed to a decrease in combustion volume and the lack of corners in the tank liner.
