The College for Creative Studies decided they wanted to set-up their new studio in efficient and cost effective ways. Wet Dog Glass was more than excited to help design equipment to suit their needs. We’ve installed custom recuperated glory holes where atmosphere pressure is balanced, so instead of heat blowing out the doors, the flame path allows heat to exhaust through the recuperators.

These systems are reclaiming 600 deg.F heat on the GH15DE and 650 deg.F on the GH18. This represents a reduction in fuel consumption of approximately 25% and also facilitates further heat reclamation for water and space heating in other parts of the building.

For the GH18 we made a custom ‘ribbon’ shape combustor so that the single nozzle mix burner distributes the heat more evenly than a single round burner.

Please feel free to call us with any questions about these pieces of equipment. We will be happy to talk about your energy conserving needs.
